California Native Plant Society (www.cnps.org) is doing an excellent job in preserving habitats of rare native plant species, and educating people about the need for preservation. More than everything, the society is running an awareness campaign about why people should grow native plants in their gardens. Native plants don’t need as much water as the nonnatives do. That saves many thousands, if not millions of gallons of water every year. One can find lot more information on their website.
Who says wild flowers aren’t beautiful? Santa Clara chapter of the society conducted a flower show in Mission College, Santa Clara. I got a chance to shoot some pictures.
